Chocolate for breakfast? Twist my arm.

If you’re like me, you’d like to eat chocolate for every meal.  Recently, I saw a link to Mighty Muffins on Halo Top’s Facebook page.  A friend said she had tried them and was enjoying them, so I thought I’d give them a spin.

This morning, as I got back from the gym, I really wasn’t feeling like making eggs and our poor pantry & fridge were running a bit low (whoopsies).  However, I really needed some protein or I’d be hangry immediately.

Thankfully, my Mighty Muffins Variety Pack was delivered Amazon yesterday, so I carefully picked a flavor to try: Chocolate Peanut Butter.  It was extremely easy: just pour 1/4 cup of water into the powder, stir, and microwave (based on my microwave wattage, it was only 35 seconds for me!).  It was like one of those cakes or cookies in a mug but without all the aggravation of picking the right Pinterest recipe. The best part is, these little guys pack 20g of protein AND 500 million CFUs of probiotics!  Depending on the flavor, you’re looking at 200-240 calories, 21-24g of carbs, and 5-6g of fiber.  Bonus for my gluten-free friends: YOU CAN EAT THEM!  If you don’t mind the flavor of Stevia (a natural sweetener), these will be an awesome breakfast or hearty snack.

Thanks to the protein, it’s almost lunch time and I’m not even hangry yet!  Now that’s something new for sure.

Note: I purchased this item to try and these views are my own.

Update 6/11/17: Here is my ranking of the flavors from the Mighty Muffins Variety Pack (from favorite to least favorite).  Surprise, surprise that the chocolate & peanut butter ones were my favorites.

  1. Chocolate Peanut Butter
  2. Double Chocolate
  3. Peanut Butter
  4. Maple Pumpkin
  5. S’mores
  6. Apple Cinnamon
